REVIEWS of On the Ice

Hi all,

I thought I'd share some of the great press we're getting for ON THE ICE. Congratulations to everyone involved for the great recognition of all your hard work and talent. This was not an easy film to make and there were a whole lot of people involved who deserve all of this and more. Here's to our cast and crew and their beautiful work.

Village Voice
"On the Ice is a marvel of concentrated, classical storytelling."

Wall Street Journal
"...feature debut has lashed together a sturdy vehicle for unadorned morality and pragmatic justice"

Juneau Empire
"A good movie enlightens and reveals. It can take you to a place you’ve never been and introduce you to the humanity of its characters. “On the Ice” is such a movie."

Huffington Post
"On the Ice is stark, unadorned, timeless and yet of the moment. Wear your mittens.

There's lots more, but I'll post more later!

Cheers! Cara

  1. I viewed On the Ice over the weekend in Scottsdale with my family. It was a bit embarrassing whenever my wife would recognize someone and comment. We once lived a couple houses down from the Search and Rescue headquarters featured in the movie, at 4284 Karluk. The film's portrayal of alcoholism and drug addiction is a powerful glimpse of the realities of life in Barrow and much of rural Alaska. It presents a flicker of hope in my heart that change might be possible.
